Salary: $46 (T4) - $67 (INC) per hour
Our multinational gaming client is seeking a Level Designer to join their Gaming studio.
In this position you will work with the Lead Level Designer and Senior Level Designers to design and implement multiple levels from conception to the final stages of polish. You will be expected to partner with other members of the Level Design, Mission Design and Level Art teams, programmers, and other design disciplines to help make the design vision set out by design direction a reality.
This is a full-time 18-month contract opportunity located in Vancouver.
Responsibilities:
- Ideate, prototype and design multiple levels through various stages of development.
- Collaborate with a senior mentor and share in owning the design and quality of your levels.
- Regularly collaborate with other level designers, technical designers, and artists.
- Use the Unreal tools to implement memorable challenges, combat, objectives, and scripted events. As well as proprietary tools to create and debug levels.
- Participate in critique sessions to provide input to personal and peers’ work.
- Regularly present your work to your leads and adjust quickly to feedback.
- Create and maintain design documentation
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience working on an Action-Shooter or Action-Adventure console title.
- 1-2 years of experience working on visual game editors, ideally Unreal Engine.
- Experienced with the level design fundamentals, constraints, and narrative.
- Strong knowledge and experience using gameplay systems in levels.
- Experience working collaboratively in a cross-discipline development environment.
- Experience with current scripting languages and level editors.
- Experience with game consoles and tools

Most candidates will start at the bottom half of the pay range, with the upper end reserved for candidates with extensive experience and skills and who live in geographic markets commanding a higher starting pay.
