Our Fortune 500 client is seeking a Program Manager II.
Come join the Small Business & Self-Employed Group as our US Accounting & Direct Tax Compliance Analyst supporting our US offerings. This position is for a passionate individual who is willing to speak up and debate key issues involving US accounting, including legislative change and its impact on QuickBooks products. This will cover both US accounting for small business and for the self-employed. A person with high self-motivation who enjoys working in cross-functional teams. Has excellent communication skills.
Project: AI development in an accounting tool
You will be utilizing your accountant's knowledge to help ensure the US product is compliant with local accounting rules. If there are areas of concern, highlight this to the relevant product team and work to resolve the issue. Any new or changes to accounting and direct tax legislation will need to be documented and then you will work with the relevant product team to prioritize the work to meet government timelines. As client moves into the mid-market accounting, understanding USGAAP requirements and how they impact reporting requirements.
The position will be based in Mountain View, Ca, 3 days a week. It is a 12-month contract covering leave.
Responsibilities:
- Research, analyse, and document US accounting & legislative changes to ensure that QuickBooks Small Business products are up to date.
- Understanding the compliance and what/how or if it impacts our customers
- Be able to communicate US accounting & direct tax legislation so it can be turned into easy-to-use software working with our engineering, design, and product management teams. Ensuring they understand the impact on our end users.
- Help develop our AI solution with our product teams
- Ensure US accounting & direct tax legislative accreditation and e-file recognition on released and supported products.
- Act as primary source for information for all questions regarding US accounting & direct tax regulatory and legislative rules.
- Developing the skills to prepare written or verbal presentations to other business teams to communicate any of the above.
- Task plans for his/her own work that are independent of but related to broader work-plans.
- Includes supporting accounting queries from across the QuickBooks product teams.
Skills:
- Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience (+ 5 years)
- CPA membership or equivalent
- Expert understanding of US accounting and direct tax legislation and compliance
- US GAAP experience
- Understanding of software engineering and development practices preferable
- A track record of working with geographically dispersed teams.
- Working knowledge of business process and analytical tools
- Basic understanding of systems development lifecycles as it pertains to production support.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of accounting legislation in other geos
- Knowledge of US payroll
- Good knowledge of google docs, sheets, & slides
- Ability to communicate with all levels within an organisation.
- Advance business knowledge of functional areas
- Understanding accounting principles around money movement, e-commerce & similar
