Job Title: ServiceNow SAM Pro Technical Administrator / Platform Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid/Onsite as applicable)
Job Type: 6-month contract
Pay Rate: $37-$45 per hour

Overview

Our client is seeking a ServiceNow SAM Pro Technical Administrator / Platform Engineer to serve as the technical authority for the Software Asset Management Professional (SAM Pro) platform.

This role is ideal for someone with deep hands-on experience in ServiceNow SAM Pro configuration, data governance, and troubleshooting, who can ensure data accuracy, optimize software licensing processes, and enhance platform performance. You will play a key role in managing SAM Pro data structures, improving data integrity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support effective software asset management.

Key Responsibilities

ServiceNow SAM Pro Configuration & Maintenance
  • Configure and maintain SAM Pro tables, software models, and associated metadata
  • Manage normalization and reconciliation processes to ensure accurate software asset tracking
  • Maintain product, discovery, software, and entitlement tables to support the full software asset lifecycle
Data Quality, Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve data quality issues across discovery sources, product catalogs, and entitlement data
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies within SAM Pro tables and ensure data consistency
  • Act as the technical authority for maintaining data accuracy and integrity across the platform
Software Model & License Management
  • Manage software models, publisher packs, and product catalog mappings
  • Configure and monitor license reconciliation and compliance processes
  • Implement and optimize reclamation rules to improve license utilization
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with CMDB and Discovery teams to resolve inventory and data alignment issues
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to improve software classification and normalization processes
  • Support integration and alignment across ITSM and asset management workflows
Platform Enhancements & Upgrades
  • Support ServiceNow platform upgrades and SAM Pro enhancements
  • Ensure configurations remain aligned with platform updates and new feature releases
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and automation within SAM Pro processes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Equivalent practical experience may be considered
  • 6–8 years of experience in ServiceNow platform administration, with strong focus on SAM Pro
  • Proven experience in software asset management, data governance, and platform configuration
  • Strong expertise in ServiceNow SAM Pro, including:
    • Software models and entitlement management
    • Normalization and reconciliation processes
    • Product catalog and discovery data management
    • Solid understanding of database concepts and data relationships within ServiceNow (DBMS-like structures)
    • Experience troubleshooting complex data and platform issues
    • Familiarity with CMDB, Discovery, and ITSM processes
