Job Title: ITV Specialist (IVVQ Engineer)
Location: Scarborough, ON (Hybrid)
Job Type: Temporary Full-Time (6-months Contract)
Pay Rate: $32 - $36 per hour
Overview
Our client in the rail and transportation technology industry is seeking an ITV Specialist (IVVQ Engineer) to support integration, verification, validation, and qualification (IVVQ) activities for mission-critical systems.
This role is responsible for executing testing activities across both in-house and project site environments, ensuring systems meet defined requirements and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in testing embedded or real-time systems and a strong interest in system validation within complex engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze system, subsystem, and software requirements to define validation strategies, test cases, and test methods
- Prepare and execute test plans, test procedures, and test cases in alignment with ITV standards
- Perform integration, verification, and commissioning tests both in-house and at project sites
- Support project commissioning activities and mitigate risks through thorough validation processes
- Develop and maintain test automation scripts to improve testing efficiency
- Prepare detailed test reports, documenting results, defects, and pass/fail status
- Investigate and troubleshoot test anomalies through analysis of logs, data files, and design documentation
- Log and track defects using defect tracking systems, ensuring accurate documentation and resolution
- Perform traceability analysis to ensure requirements are properly validated
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve integration issues and system defects
- Conduct independent reviews of test results to ensure quality and compliance
- Continuously build product and technical knowledge through training, on-the-job learning, and self-study
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in Testing embedded or real-time systems, Software or hardware testing environments
- Exposure to mission-critical systems testing is preferred
- Knowledge of test methods, validation processes, and test procedures
- Understanding of real-time and embedded systems
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools and test documentation practices
- Basic understanding of railway signaling systems (preferred)
- Ability to develop test automation scripts (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of company products such as SelTrac
- Understanding of system integration and validation processes across departments
- Familiarity with rail/transportation systems and signaling technologies
Work Environment & Additional Information
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)
- Work Environment: Hybrid (Office + Project Sites)
- Travel: Up to 10% (domestic and international)
