Job Title: Senior SAP Data Services (BODS) Developer

Pay Rate: $56-$68 per hour

Job Overview

Our top consultancy client is seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer to lead design, build, test, and support activities for complex SAP solutions within their SAP Centre of Excellence. This role will collaborate across architecture, integration, and business teams to deliver secure, scalable SAP systems that align with the organization’s strategic roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of ABAP and ABAP Objects, including performance tuning and code reviews.

• Design and implement solutions using RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms), including Fiori/UI5 and HANA CDS Views.

• Support integration with SAP PI/PO, Data Services, CPI, and external systems/cloud.

• Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and advise on architectural decisions.

• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical designs.

• Assist in root cause analysis, production support, incident management, and post-deployment operational support.

• Stay abreast of SAP best practices and emerging technologies and recommend process and tool improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5 years of SAP ABAP experience, including object-oriented ABAP and S4HANA development.

• Hands-on expertise with RICEF development (reports, enhancements, IDocs, BAPIs, BADIs, Adobe/Smart Forms).

• Strong knowledge of SAP HANA, CDS views, and performance optimization.

• Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 integration and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, HANA Studio, Eclipse ABAP).

• Familiarity with middleware/integration (PI/PO, CPI) and cloud integration services.

• Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience in incident management.

• Strong communication skills and ability to mentor and collaborate effectively across functions.

• Reliability Status security clearance is required for access to Protected B systems.
