Job Title: Senior Process Engineer – New Product Introduction (NPI)
Location: Tempe, AZ (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite)
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $65-$68 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to support New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for providing engineering support for new product and process launches, process development, validation activities, equipment implementation, and continuous improvement efforts.

The ideal candidate will bring experience working in manufacturing environments, supporting process development and validation activities while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams to successfully bring new products into production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring all activities are completed and documented according to established development procedures.
  • Support process development, optimization, and implementation activities within manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
  • Conduct process qualifications, validations, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies for new products and manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in equipment selection, specification development, installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
  • Analyze equipment performance and process data to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.
  • Develop operations manuals, troubleshooting guides, preventive maintenance documentation, and work instructions.
  • Complete capability studies and generate supporting inspection documentation.
  • Support capital equipment projects and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Participate in process reviews and cross-functional project meetings.
  • Provide training and technical support to manufacturing personnel.
  • Drive effective communication across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product design, and process development.
  • Experience with:
    • User Requirement Specifications (URS)
    • Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Systems Engineering.
  • Experience writing and executing validation protocols.
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and validation/verification methodologies.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
  • Experience within medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
  • Experience with GMP-compliant manufacturing processes.
