Location: Rock Hill, SC
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00/8:00 AM – 4:00/5:00 PM (Flexibility Required)
Duration: 6-Month Contract with Potential for Permanent Hire
Pay Rate: Approximately $30.00/hour + Overtime

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading advanced manufacturing company specializing in innovative materials and production technologies, is seeking an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Technician to join their Rock Hill, SC facility.

This position offers a unique blend of hands-on equipment maintenance and engineering support within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills who enjoys working closely with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary responder for equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and support equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and process-related equipment issues.
  • Support engineering and production teams with testing, process improvements, equipment validation, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist with fabrication, installation, and modification of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair logs, and equipment documentation.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and skilled trades personnel to complete projects efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, environmental requirements, and PPE standards.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate Degree, Technical Diploma, Trade School certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in a related field.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in chemical processing, plastics manufacturing, mixing operations, or other process-driven manufacturing environments.
  • Mechanical or electrical fabrication experience.
  • Electrical and/or Mechanical certifications.
  • Graduates of technical programs with industrial maintenance training are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working around chemicals or hazardous materials while following established safety procedures.
