Position Type: Permanent, Full‑time

Location: Richmond Hill (Onsite, 5 days per week)
Compensation: CAD $125,000–$145,000 + benefits


We are supporting our client in their search for a Deputy Chief of Staff for a full‑time permanent role at their Richmond Hill office. The organization is undergoing significant change and transition, creating the need for a senior strategist and relationship‑builder who can provide critical support to the Chief of Staff.

This role requires a leader who influences through respect rather than authority, builds credible partnerships, and anticipates emerging issues and opportunities with sound judgment and agility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies, as directed by the Chief of Staff, to deliver on the vision established by the Executive Officers
  • Collaborate with departments and programs to monitor annual plans, objectives, performance measures, and budget controls, ensuring strategic priorities translate into operational execution
  • Promote and support organizational equity and inclusion through practices, systems, and behaviors across the organization
  • Serve as the first point of contact for senior leaders seeking to engage with the Chief of Staff, providing support in strategy, problem‑solving, process development, and delivery of commitments
  • Monitor KPIs related to areas of responsibility and report findings to the Chief of Staff
  • Personally manage special projects on behalf of the Chief of Staff
  • Identify opportunities to build strategic partnerships across departments, teams, and external stakeholders
  • Lead and support organizational and cultural change initiatives to help the organization adapt to evolving demands, technologies, and internal priorities
  • Provide timely feedback, coaching, and development guidance to support the growth of others
  • Foster a learning culture and drive new approaches to improve organizational outcomes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of labour relations experience in a unionized environment
  • CHRP designation considered an asset
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, facilitation, conflict resolution, and relationship‑management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of collective bargaining agreements
