Compensation: $45/hr (T4) – $58/hr (INC)
Our financial services client, a leading Canadian institution, is seeking a Procurement Lead. This role manages sourcing initiatives, identifies opportunities through industry and supply‑market analysis, evaluates cost models for key products and services, and oversees supplier performance. The position requires limited oversight and is suited to a seasoned procurement professional.
Responsibilities
- Develop and present sourcing strategy recommendations based on business requirements and industry analysis
- Define and solve problems creatively when client needs or project requirements are ambiguous
- Lead the development, negotiation, execution, and implementation of complex sourcing initiatives, including RFPs and supplier evaluation tools, ensuring risk mitigation and adherence to regulatory and internal policies
- Recommend enhancements to sourcing practices and processes to improve planning, procurement, and supplier management
- Execute complex sourcing initiatives within relevant expenditure categories
- Develop agreement content in partnership with legal teams
- Lead negotiation strategy alignment, contract negotiations, and secure required approvals for agreement execution
- Discuss and negotiate complex issues with senior management
- Work with Supplier Relationship Managers and Business Leads to ensure supplier management frameworks are applied for high‑risk or high‑spend suppliers
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of procurement experience managing moderate to complex sourcing initiatives
- Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise real estate services and contracts
- Strong contract negotiation experience
Nice to Have
- PMAC certification or equivalent
- Experience working with major financial institutions
- Experience in construction management, facilities management, and vendor management
- Experience supporting enterprise‑wide or multi‑line‑of‑business initiatives
- Experience using Coupa
