Our client, Top 5 Bank, is seeking a talented and strategic Content Writer / Content Strategist (CW) to join the Business Application Management (BAM) team. This role is central to CIBC’s modernization of internal documentation and user guidance across core credit applications, including ICAP and CS.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for rewriting outdated materials, creating new keystroke guides and job aids, establishing content standards, and supporting change management initiatives. This role also plays a critical part in building a modern, intuitive SharePoint site and improving the overall user experience through consistent and strategic content direction.
 
This is a hands-on content role requiring both execution and strategic thinking. The ideal candidate brings a fresh, modern approach to content delivery and is comfortable challenging existing processes to help the team adopt better, more user-centric practices.
 
1. Update & Modernize Training Materials
•       Rewrite, update, and create keystroke guides, user guides, job aids, and process documentation for BAM’s core credit systems.
•       Refresh and modernize 15 ICAP-related job aids within the first two months, supporting the upcoming Ascend Project and downstream training readiness.
•       Ensure all materials are accurate, accessible, and aligned with user needs.
2. Content Strategy & Consistency
•       Develop and implement content standards across applications, including: 
o       Naming conventions
o       Field descriptions
o       Button/label terminology
o       Instructional patterns
•       Create a long-term content strategy that supports consistency across all BAM applications and user experiences.
3. Change Management Support
•       Partner with the Change Management practice being developed under BAM.
•       Draft and edit communications, training-related content, and readiness materials.
•       Support the rollout of new updates and guide stakeholders through system changes.
4. SharePoint Management
•       Redesign, reorganize, and maintain a modern, user-friendly SharePoint site for the BAM team.
•       Ensure content is structured intuitively and kept current.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
•       Collaborate closely with: 
o       Subject Matter Experts
o       Business Analysts
o       Technical teams
o       Change Management partners
•       Validate content accuracy and ensure alignment to business and operational goals.
•       Work with an external Content Manager (mentor) to ensure quality and growth in the role.

Must Have Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Technical Writing, Copywriting, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in content writing, content strategy, or technical documentation (financial services or credit writing experience is an asset but not required).
Strong experience creating training materials, job aids, user guides, and process documentation.
Familiarity with credit applications, credit workflows, or system content design is a plus.
Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and content structuring best practices.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple content tracks simultaneously.
Strategic mindset, with strong attention to detail and consistency.
 
Nice to Have:
Experience within Financial Services, banking, or credit/lending systems.
Background in UX/technical Content writing and/or content strategy.
Experience standardizing naming conventions, terminology, or UI labels.
Experience supporting change management communications or training.
