Job Title: Senior Engineer – CAD/CAE Engineering (Individual Contributor)
Location: Mahwah, NJ (Onsite)
Job Type: 6-month (Contract)
Pay Rate: $47/hour
Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer – CAD/CAE Engineering to support the development and maintenance of detailed design drawings and engineering documentation. This role is ideal for a technically strong individual contributor with experience in CAD/CAE tools, who can work independently while collaborating with engineering teams on complex design initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain detailed design drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD/CAE software
- Collaborate closely with engineers and designers to resolve design discrepancies and ensure accuracy of technical documentation
- Create, modify, and manage 2D and 3D parts and assembly drawings based on sketches, plans, and verbal or written instructions
- Support the development of complex and high-precision designs requiring strong attention to detail
- Establish and maintain drafting standards, best practices, and procedures
- Evaluate and recommend CAD/CAE-related tools, including software and hardware enhancements
- Ensure all design documentation aligns with engineering standards and project requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CAD/CAE, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in CAD/CAE engineering or drafting roles
- Strong proficiency in CAD/CAE tools and design software
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, design standards, and technical documentation
- Ability to interpret technical sketches, plans, and specifications
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
