Job Title: Technician II, Repair Center
Location: Onsite (Michigan, Kalamazoo)
Employment Type: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $30/hour

Position Summary: 
The Technician II, Repair Center is responsible for performing in-house servicing, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and calibration of company products at an established repair facility or service center. This role diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software, and system-related failures using established procedures and technical guidelines to restore products to operational condition. The position supports product quality and reliability initiatives through accurate documentation and reporting of repair activities and product failure trends.

This role follows clearly defined procedures and work instructions and requires the ability to apply basic technical knowledge to routine repair tasks and straightforward problem-solving situations.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Perform in-house diagnostics, maintenance, servicing, and repair of company products and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and identify mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures using established diagnostic procedures.
  • Conduct testing, calibration, and verification of repaired products to ensure quality and functionality standards are met.
  • Document repair activities, findings, and corrective actions accurately in service systems or repair logs.
  • Prepare reports and provide data to support analysis of product failure trends, recurring issues, and serviceability concerns.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and quality standards during all repair activities.
  • Escalate complex issues when necessary and collaborate with senior technicians or engineering teams.
  • Communicate with field-based technicians to gather information that aids in troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in proper working condition.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned repair and maintenance tasks while meeting productivity and quality targets.
Required Experience: 
  • No prior professional experience required; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience gained through technical education, vocational training, internships, laboratory work, or hands-on projects involving electronics, mechanical systems, or computer hardware is acceptable.
  • Basic exposure to troubleshooting, repair, testing, or maintenance of electronic or mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
  • Basic knowledge of diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and repair methodologies.
Required Qualifications: 
  • Associate degree, Technical Diploma, Vocational Certification, or equivalent training in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical, hardware, software, and system troubleshooting concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, repair manuals, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document repair activities and findings.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office or similar applications.
Preferred Qualifications / Good to Haves: 
  • Experience repairing, servicing, or troubleshooting electronic devices, computer systems, medical devices, or similar equipment.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, calibration devices, or other testing equipment.
  • Exposure to ERP systems, ticketing systems, or service management software.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, calibration procedures, or preventive maintenance practices.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, repair center, laboratory, or technical service environment.
  • Understanding of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling procedures and safety standards.
  • Certification in electronics, repair technology, or related technical disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve routine technical issues.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, engineering teams, and cross-functional partners.
