Job Title: Training Coordinator
Location: Hampton, VA
Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST
Pay Rate: $27–$30/hour
Job Type: 6-months Contract (On-site)

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Training Coordinator to support the development and delivery of training programs within a manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in enhancing workforce capabilities by implementing structured training programs, supporting trainers, and driving continuous improvement initiatives aligned with operational excellence goals

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across operations, engineering, and leadership to support training initiatives
  • Deliver and support Train-the-Trainer programs, coaching production trainers on effective job instruction methods, including:
    • Breaking down tasks
    • Training to competency
    • Managing training matrices
    • Executing structured training plans
  • Apply Training Within Industry (TWI) and Job Instruction (JI) methodologies to enhance training effectiveness
  • Develop and deliver training materials, including:
    • Instructor guides
    • Lesson plans
    • Audio-visual content
    • Learning activities aligned to business objectives
  • Assess training effectiveness through evaluations, employee performance metrics, and feedback
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in training processes and recommend scalable solutions
  • Support skills development programs for both direct labor and frontline leadership teams
  • Maintain training documentation, records, and compliance with organizational standards
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, manufacturing)
  • Background in instructional design or adult learning principles
  • 10+ years of experience in training delivery within manufacturing or regulated environments (medical device experience preferred)
  • Hands-on experience in training trainers, instructional design, or adult learning methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of TWI, Job Instruction (JI), and training systems
  • Experience working in lean manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise systems such as SAP
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical content effectively
  • Ability to analyze complex processes and translate them into clear, structured training steps
  • Experience working in cross-functional, team-based environments
