Description and Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for comanaging the GL, with a focus on operating expenses
  • Assist in the preparation and review of internal and external monthly, quarterly and YTD financial statements for the Board of Directors, lenders, auditors, and senior management
  • Build reporting processes from the ground up and help develop accounting procedures
  • Supervisory responsibilities including but not limited to training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues
  • Review journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information, while ensuring compliance with internal controls processes and procedures
  • Support all internal financial reporting, departmental and functional results analysis, and communications of reporting to senior management
  • Lead capitalized software assessments of internal-use software
  • Resolve any discrepancies in accounting data, as identified
  • Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
  • Ensure that all accounting activities, records, and entries follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Utilize knowledge of U.S. GAAP to research accounting literature, establish a position, draft supporting memorandum, and obtain auditor acceptance
  • Work closely with the external auditors on planning, completion, and filing of required reports
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint, and NetSuite 

Requirements/ Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Active CPA preferred
  • National public accounting firm background, public company reporting and/or audit experience preferred
  • Prior experience in technology, professional services, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform or other high growth companies preferred
  • Intellectually curious, creative, and collaborative
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform in a high impact role that requires a passionate leader with a team player attitude in a start-up environment
  • Ability to adapt to multiple demands and shifting/competing priorities, and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment

Relocation package provided if not currently local to Denver area.

Compensation Range: $110,000 - 130,000 + bonus
