Description and Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for comanaging the GL, with a focus on operating expenses
- Assist in the preparation and review of internal and external monthly, quarterly and YTD financial statements for the Board of Directors, lenders, auditors, and senior management
- Build reporting processes from the ground up and help develop accounting procedures
- Supervisory responsibilities including but not limited to training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues
- Review journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information, while ensuring compliance with internal controls processes and procedures
- Support all internal financial reporting, departmental and functional results analysis, and communications of reporting to senior management
- Lead capitalized software assessments of internal-use software
- Resolve any discrepancies in accounting data, as identified
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
- Ensure that all accounting activities, records, and entries follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
- Utilize knowledge of U.S. GAAP to research accounting literature, establish a position, draft supporting memorandum, and obtain auditor acceptance
- Work closely with the external auditors on planning, completion, and filing of required reports
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
- Utilize Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint, and NetSuite
Requirements/ Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Active CPA preferred
- National public accounting firm background, public company reporting and/or audit experience preferred
- Prior experience in technology, professional services, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform or other high growth companies preferred
- Intellectually curious, creative, and collaborative
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform in a high impact role that requires a passionate leader with a team player attitude in a start-up environment
- Ability to adapt to multiple demands and shifting/competing priorities, and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment
Relocation package provided if not currently local to Denver area.
Compensation Range: $110,000 - 130,000 + bonus
