Manager, External Reporting & Technical Accounting

About the Role:
The Manager, External Reporting & Technical Accounting will be an experienced financial reporting professional who will work closely with Senior Finance and Legal management as well as with internal and external auditors. This key role will be responsible for accounting for complex accounting matters, including Stock Compensation, Lease Accounting, and Stockholders Equity as well as drive our internal financial reporting process, and assisting with SEC filings, providing earnings release support, internal management reporting, accounting policies, technical accounting, and special projects such as acquisition and disposition accounting.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and review of 10-Qs & the 10-K, including financial statements and footnotes as well financial information presented throughout the filings. Coordinate and validate data provided by other departments.
  • Support the quarterly earnings release process, including preparation of earnings release financial statements and schedules and earnings call support.
  • Perform US GAAP and SEC technical research, including preparing position memos for management and external auditors.
  • Participate in the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Develop and review of accounting policies and procedures for the company.
  • Coordinate requests and inquiries from external auditors.
  • Perform lease accounting and own lease accounting software tool.
  • Assist with the accounting for equity-based compensation working with the compensation and benefits team as well as with the legal team.
  • Calculate basic and diluted shares.
  • Prepare and present quarterly disclosure committee materials.
Required Qualifications:
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of Big 4 public accounting experience in the accounting and audit function with a primarily US public company client base.
  • Open to experience solely in the Big 4 or a combination of Big 4 (5 years min) + experience in industry.
  • Experience working with a global organization (Big 4 clients or working within industry)
Education/ Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline
  • Licensed CPA

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting industry experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Workiva software products preferred
Education/ Certifications
  • Master of Accounting, Business or related area preferred
