Our leading financial client is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis for the team


Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Executive Director of the client's Foundation (Senior Director of Community Investment), this role oversees the overall financial management of the client's Foundation, ensuring compliance with governing laws, regulations, and accounting standards. You will manage the Foundation Finance System, ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining internal controls to safeguard assets.
  • You will prepare contributions, donations, investments, and cash reconciliations, and develop comprehensive financial statements and cash flow forecasting for management and Board committees. You will also prepare board packages, including financial reports and speaking notes for Board and Committee meetings. You will be the principal support to the Treasurer and Finance committee in fulfilling their duties.
  • As a strategic leader, you will provide financial insights to support long-term planning and decision-making. You will design and implement finance policies and procedures, coordinate with external auditors and the Foundation Treasurer, and collaborate with external tax counsel for tax return preparation.
  • Financial Management, Cash Flow and Treasury Management, Reconciliation and Reporting, Financial Oversight and Coordination, Team Collaboration and Development, and Compliance and Risk Management.

Must Have: 

  • Experience in financial management – 7 years
  • Experience in financial management in a Canadian nonprofit organization – 3 years
  • Proficient in financial software (non-profit)and Microsoft Excel – 5 years
  • Microsoft Excel – 5 years
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Nice to have:

  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
