Our client, a multinational technology company specializing in Information Technology Services and Consulting, is looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst. 

Senior Business Analyst in Information Controls Technology. The Information Controls technology team builds and executes complex surveillance models and scenarios that focus on monitoring and enforcing the firm's information barriers.

A business analyst in this space partners with developers and drives forward the business agenda through solid requirements analysis and execution

The eCommunications Surveillance program within Information Controls Technology is currently transitioning from a legacy platform to a modern technology stack.


Job Details:

  • Industry:  BFSI
  • The individual in this role will be required to collaborate with the vendor to gain an understanding of the new product and align existing workflows and scenarios with the updated surveillance framework.
  • This encompasses knowledge of monitoring use cases for both audio and electronic communications.
  • Proficiency in handling unstructured data, as well as experience with large-scale data analytics (including Regex, NLP, and AI filtering), would be highly advantageous.
  • Furthermore, the candidate should have expertise in extracting data from SaaS platforms, manipulating it for on-premise reporting purposes, and working closely with Compliance to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • The ideal candidate should have the skills listed below, but in addition, should be a self-driven, dedicated individual who can work well with both technical and non-technical audiences. In addition, the candidate should respond well to change and quickly pick up new concepts, as well as devise new approaches for solving challenges in the space.
  • Technical and analytics skills combined with strong interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities:
  • The role will define the project's objectives, scope, and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle, including refining business requirements and creating fully dressed user stories.
  • The individual will need to be hands-on with the data to help develop project solutions and identify issues/opportunities.
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player committed to delivering on time and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • The candidate should expect to work in a global virtual team, sometimes across multiple time zones.
  • Specific responsibilities include: 
  • Document business and functional requirements, including workflow, business rules, and use cases.
  • Understand and document data requirements for surveillance scenarios and other monitoring. 
  • Create documentation that outlines data lineage and a framework for data governance.
  • Become a subject matter expert for compliance data.
  • Work with the developers to define/document existing application infrastructure and architecture.
  • Assist with QA/Testing to review/refine test plans and more detailed test cases.
  • Work with the project team and business to identify and resolve issues that arise during projects or as part of day-to-day business operations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans.
  • Build, develop, and grow relationships with IT and business areas vital to the success of the project.
  • Manage/monitor Data issues and perform impact assessment to identify critical processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis, work with Business and IT partners to resolve data issues that result from control breaks.
  • Understand the Agile framework (working in Scrum/Kanban/Scrumbum model); be able to work closely with development and qa in building, developing, and executing requirements.
Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years of experience in a large complex banking organization or major consulting organization acting in a technology business analyst role.
  • Competent and proficient understanding of general technology environments (platforms, organizational structure and culture, teams involved in the successful completion of technology initiatives, etc.). 
  • Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. 
  • Good database/SQL skills: Much of the work is focused on databases.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and influencing skills; ability to communicate effectively with technology and key business representatives.
  • Self-motivated and can work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Experienced in Agile scrum or Kanban lifecycles.
  • Able to multitask across a number of projects.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications: Excel, MS Project, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Technical background in integration, development, and/or infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of Smarsh, Digital Reasoning, Veritas, Actimize, or similar Communications Archiving and Supervision Tools would be preferable.
  • Experience in the financial services field, with emphasis on banking/Compliance technology

The indicated pay range for this position is a good-faith estimate based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Additionally, it is emphasized that the pay band mentioned herein is the one established by the client company. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work. Most candidates will start at the bottom half of the pay range, with the upper end reserved for candidates with extensive experience and skills and who live in geographic markets commanding a higher starting pay. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
