Our multinational retail client seeks an SEO specialist for the team.

We seek an experienced Technical SEO Lead to oversee the entire technical SEO strategy for the client's Canada site. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Tech SEO best practices, algorithm changes, and analytics tools.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive technical SEO strategies.
  • Pitch big SEO initiatives + SEO Proposal Documentation – that gets approved!
  • Support SEO Manager in creating an annual roadmap integrating traffic and conversion goals.
  • Conduct regular website audits to identify technical issues. Monitor search console data for potential issues and areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate and manage technical SEO projects, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Develop project plans and timelines and ensure timely implementation of technical SEO initiatives.
  • Create and manage SEO tickets.
  • Generate reports on technical SEO performance and identify trends to guide strategy adjustments.
  • Analyze data to measure the impact of technical SEO efforts, using analytics tools to track key SEO metrics.
  • Communicate progress and challenges to the team and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the quality of technical implementations by testing website changes for SEO impact, identifying and reporting any issues, and collaborating with developers to resolve them.


Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with the following tools (or similar: Botify, Screaming Frog, Brightedge, Oncrawl, Semrush, Ahrefs, JIRA.
  • Deep knowledge of crawlability, renderability, and indexability.
  • Experience with optimizing for Core web vitals and improving page speed scores.
  • Knowledge of SEO automation, scaling of content, links etc.
  • Understanding of front-end web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Shema Markup etc.
  • Skills including applied knowledge of bot behaviour monitoring, server log analysis, crawl budget ptimization, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, SSR (server-side rendering), CDN/pre render.
  • Ability to ensure the function and integrity of metadata, internal linking, Hreflang tags, canonicals, redirects, cannibalization strategies etc.


The indicated pay range for this position is a good-faith estimate based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Additionally, it is emphasized that the pay band mentioned herein is the one established by the client company. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work. Most candidates will start at the bottom half of the pay range, with the upper end reserved for candidates with extensive experience and skills and who live in geographic markets commanding a higher starting pay. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
