Our client, a multinational retail industry seeking an Analyst, and Pricing Analyst for the pricing operations.
The Price Analytics Analyst is responsible for assisting in the development and upkeep of pricing solutions that enable associates to efficiently plan, implement, and track optimal pricing strategies for customers. This includes integration of statistical models, algorithms, and business rules to shape raw data into pricing actions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret complex datasets, and a knack for translating findings into clear, actionable plans. This role requires a strategic mindset, excellent communication, and a collaborative approach to implement revenue-enhancing initiatives aligned with the organization’s overall objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (merchandising, technology, data science) to gather requirements and translate business needs into pricing analytics solutions
- Develop and maintain pricing reports and tools to enable timely decision-making and performance monitoring. Implement continuous improvement loops for pricing tools, integrating user feedback and evolving market data to enhance usability and accuracy.
- Participate in UAT testing for pricing tools and feature enhancements before deploying to broader business stakeholders. Perform root-cause analyses on pricing anomalies or unexpected variances to recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct market and competitor research to identify pricing trends and opportunities, adjusting strategies as needed. Identify, track, and analyze key business drivers to refine and optimize pricing approaches.
- Monitor the effectiveness of pricing strategies, analyzing key performance indicators and recommending continuous improvements.
- Synthesize complex data insights into clear, concise presentations highlighting risks and opportunities. Create visually appealing and understandable data visualizations to communicate complex information effectively.
- Ensure data integrity by validating, cleaning, and enriching large datasets for accurate and reliable analytical output.
- Partner with technology and data engineering teams to enhance data pipelines and analytics infrastructure, ensuring scalable and reliable solutions.
- Maintain strong knowledge of industry best practices and emerging analytical methods, applying them to optimize pricing initiatives.
- Advocate for a data-driven culture within the organization by promoting the strategic value of analytics in pricing decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Business Management, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, Marketing, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in pricing, data analytics, market research, revenue management, or related roles within retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods industries.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to manipulate, interpret, and present complex and large datasets.
- Proficiency in analytical tools such as Excel and SQL for data extraction, cleaning, and modeling with knowledge of Python and R being an asset.
- Experience with Google BigQuery for querying and analyzing large datasets is an asset.
- Experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau to create compelling dashboards and reports with Power BI being an asset.
- Familiarity with statistical modeling concepts (e.g., regression, forecasting, elasticity) and machine learning techniques.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including scenario analysis and root-cause investigation for pricing anomalies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity in all analyses.
- Collaborative mindset, able to partner effectively with cross-functional teams (merchandising, technology, data science).
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment, with the capacity to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Knowledge of NIQ, Circana, and Numerator products and services is an asset
