Manager, Transfer Agent Processing

Position Type: Full-time/Permanent

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid; 2 days in-office)

Compensation: $110,000 to $125,000/Annually + Bonus + Benefits + Vacation + RRSP + Profit Sharing

We are supporting our client, an investment management firm, in hiring a Manager, Transfer Agent Processing. Reporting to the Director, Client Services, this role is responsible for the effective management and leadership of the Processing function within Client Services, including transaction processing quality and throughput, development and maintenance of appropriate controls, staff planning and utilization, and process reviews and improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily operations of the Transfer Agent Processing department, ensuring effective transaction management and completion.
  • Collaborate with senior management to recommend and implement changes that enhance productivity, reduce risks, and improve employee performance.
  • Develop and execute departmental goals, while contributing to the overall business plan for Client Services.
  • Enhance the client experience and support the Voice of the Customer program by understanding key priorities and identifying necessary actions.
  • Foster strong relationships within the company and the mutual fund industry to drive operational success.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the mutual fund industry with in-depth knowledge of Transfer Agent services.
  • Proven leadership experience, including managing people managers within the financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of Client Services Operations, including relevant policies and procedures.
  • Business acumen in areas like budgeting, forecasting, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mutual funds, their associated services, and features.
  • Familiarity with various account types used to hold mutual funds (e.g., RRSP, LIF/RIF/LRIF, RESP, TFSA, non-registered).
  • Expertise in government, regulatory, and compliance policies and rules governing the mutual fund industry.
  • Demonstrated people management skills with a focus on coaching and developing teams.
  • Effective presentation skills, with the ability to tailor information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in PC applications and working knowledge of proprietary systems used in the industry.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and preparation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal partners.
  • In-depth knowledge of mutual fund operations, particularly client-facing services.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to cultivate lasting relationships with clients.
