Position Type: 6‑month contract (potential extension)
Compensation Range: $40–$53 per hour CAD
Our client, a multinational technology company specializing in IT services and consulting, is seeking a Developer/Integration Engineer. This role involves working directly with clients, merchants, partners, and developers to understand business requirements and implement high‑quality technical solutions. You will serve as the primary technical point of contact throughout integration efforts, ensuring smooth onboarding, testing, and launch activities.
Responsibilities
- Interact directly with clients, merchants, partners, and developers to understand business requirements and recommend optimal implementation approaches
- Serve as the main technical point of contact for all integration‑related activities
- Set up test accounts, provide development and coding support, and guide clients through testing and pre‑launch processes
- Act as the Voice of the Customer by relaying feedback to Product, Engineering, Technology, and other internal teams
- Collaborate with Solution Engineers to integrate proposed solutions into client e‑commerce platforms
- Work with internal stakeholders (Product Management, Risk, Payments, etc.) to address customer requirements and support new product features
- Coordinate with compliance, privacy, risk, information security, support, and operations teams to ensure successful partner or merchant launches
- Identify and define integration best practices
- Ensure partners and merchants implement optimal integration strategies, techniques, and user‑experience best practices
Qualifications
- 6–8 years of experience
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance or Computer Science
- 5+ years of experience with:
- Web and mobile technologies (Web Services, APIs, REST, HTML/HTTP, iOS, Android, major web/mobile frameworks)
- Multiple programming languages (C++, Objective‑C, C#, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, .NET, PHP, Python)
- 2+ years of experience with payments (credit card, banking, online/offline), especially e‑commerce systems, payment gateways, and processors
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to interact with all levels of client organizations, including executives, management, finance, operations, and technical teams
- Ability to translate requirements into detailed design and solution documentation
- Strong troubleshooting skills for integration issues
- Effective time‑management skills to support multiple external customers concurrently
- Self‑directed learner capable of designing solutions for both off‑the‑shelf and customized products
- Strong presentation skills for both business and technical audiences
