Compensation Range: $58/hr (T4) to $72/hr (INC) per hour 


Our multinational technology client is seeking a Gameplay Animation Outsource Manager for the team.
We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Gameplay Animation Outsource Manager. In this position, you will be expected to help deliver high-quality animations through our external partners. You will work closely with the Lead Gameplay Animators to help reinforce our quality bar and bring the Leads’ vision to reality.


Responsibilities
  • Act as a bridge between the internal Gameplay Animation team and our external partners to achieve key milestones and deliverables.
  • Partner with the Animation Director and Lead Gameplay Animators to understand, train, and reinforce animation creation best practices, processes and animation direction goals.
  • Assist where required in due diligence and onboarding of new external partners, as well as offboarding partners from our projects.
  • Actively work with the Production team to help remove roadblocks with external partners.
  • Promptly review work submitted by external partners, ensuring that it hits the quality standards set by our Animation and Technical Animation Directors and Leads.
  • Ensure that tasks assigned to our external partners in project management tools are up-to-date and are populated with the required information (e.g. estimates, time logged, submission notes)
  • Work with the external partners to ensure that the work assigned to them is completed on time, on budget, and to the expected quality bar.
  • Maintain regular communication and healthy relationships with external partners. This may include being available outside of normal working hours to cover different time zones.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in gameplay animation.
  • 5+ years of experience working with external teams.
  • Shipped an AAA or equivalent title in an outsourced manager role.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically or internationally 3-4 times per year typically for 1-week durations per trip.
  • Good visual and technical understanding of gameplay animation creation steps and requirements.
  • Proficient in Maya and Motion Builder.
  • Experienced in key frame and motion capture animation.
  • A solid understanding of body mechanics, timing, spacing, weight, and appeal.
  • Self-motivated, creative problem solver, team player.
  • Familiarity with managing projects using project management tools (I.e. Jira, Shotgrid, Confluence, Excel, etc.)
  • Work well with deadlines, be self-motivated and directed.

The indicated pay range for this position is a good-faith estimate based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Additionally, it is emphasized that the pay band mentioned herein is the one established by the client company. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work. Most candidates will start at the bottom half of the pay range, with the upper end reserved for candidates with extensive experience and skills and who live in geographic markets commanding a higher starting pay. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
