Our leading financial client is seeking a French Editorial Specialist


Responsibilities:

  • As a French Editorial Specialist, you’ll review and edit English-to-French translated content for accuracy, consistency, tone and any typographical and grammatical errors. You may also need to provide translations of content updates and emergency translations of short pieces.
  • You’ll work closely with the other French Editorial Specialists to create and maintain French editorial standards, ensuring fully optimized French content is produced while maintaining a consistent tone and voice.
  • You’ll work closely with intake analysts, English editors, visual designers, developers and QA analysts to ensure timely delivery of accurate and concise French content.
  • Review, edit, proofread and translate content while maintaining style, tone and editorial standards for all Digital properties.
  • Ensure content meets organizational standards and best practices while adhering to the Office québécois de la langue française standards.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to maintain and develop French content for digital properties.
  • Support the coordination of translation, Québec Marketing and Québec Legal reviews, as well as French editorial review.
  • Efficiently complete tasks in a hybrid working model.

Must Have: 

  • Strong English and native French language proficiency
  • Editorial and translation experience – 3+ years
  • Strong terminological research skills
  • Experience with Digital accessibility – 2+ years
  • Experienced with content publishing and defect management tools - 2+ years

Soft Skills:

  • Self starter and adaptive
  • You’re an effective team player willing to share expertise, knowledge and information
  • You possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • You’re detail and process oriented

Nice to have:

  • You have a degree in translation
  • Experience with French Canadian specificities
  • Knowledgeable in OQLF’s standards
  • Experience in the use of Termium, Le GDT, Antidote and Terminology databases
