Our client, a multinational technology company specializing in Information Technology Services and Consulting, is looking to hire a Data Quality Specialist



Responsibilities:


  • Work with various platforms and business teams/domains to enable data quality roll-out. 
  • The Data Quality Specialist should be tenacious, creative, curious, with an appetite for growth and innovation. 
  • This role is critical to promote the data quality regimen and key to establishing the foundation for the company's maturity. 
  • They will also be responsible for the investigation, correction, and prevention of data issues as part of Data Quality Issue Management.
  • Expertise in creating, validating, and updating Data Quality to ensure information is run through the DQ requirements. 
  • The specialist collaborates with various teams to implement DQ and relevant Data Governance standards and best practices. 
  • They oversee the creation of DQ in the full end-to-end implementation, with DQ issue resolution and reporting. 
  • Data Quality 
  • Reviewing Critical Data Elements (CDEs) for DQ dimensions, with DQ rules and threshold 
  • Adhering to Canada Life Data Policy, Data Quality resources, Information classification and handling standard, Privacy guidelines, and other related policies and standards 
  • Directly collaborate with business partners and other stakeholders for DQ implementation? Data Quality Process
  • Create standards, procedures, guidelines, and templates for DQ implementation
  • Create a registration process for CDEs and other related data elements with attestations and control
  • Identify improvements in the process, Data Quality Tool
  • Embed DQ process in the DQ tool, the Ability to create and implement DQ runs (testing & monitoring), including remediation processes 
  • Support Lead in supporting business teams in using Collibra and connections to other potential DQ tooling solutions used by the business
  • Support role alignment within Collibra and other related DQ solution tools to enhance DQ and metadata roles implementation, cohesion, and adherence


Qualifications:


  • Data Quality (DQ): Work with the stakeholders, such as Lead Data Stewards, Data Stewards, and other data practitioners, to continuously ensure that the highest possible levels of data quality are applied. 
  • Be the face of the business as a subject matter expert for DQ
  • Quality Monitoring: Create, support, and monitor automated threshold-based reports that efficiently and reliably identify areas for further investigation and improvement. Work with the Lead Data Stewards and Data Stewards to support the resolution of the findings in a timely manner
  • Data Quality Investigations: Analyze and evaluate data quality issues, clarify issues, and recommend corrective action. Create a root cause assessment to evaluate how to remediate, possibly at the source 
  • Data Transformation: Run validation routines, comparing results between legacy and cloud systems for the length of the business transformation project, and identify DQ failures in the ecosystem
  • Data Quality Reporting: Create a mechanism to ensure DQ activities are monitored and reported on a frequent basis, and gain analysis on how to improve DQ across the organization. 
  • Continuous improvement: work with various stakeholders and the Canada Data Team to identify, refine, and implement data quality processes and requirements 
  • Analyze data and provide data quality assurance for support teams
  • Maintain documentation and share the knowledge base. Assist in the development and implementation of new processes, procedures, and tools to analyze data and insights
  • Expertise in Collibra DQ tool management. 
  • Must be Protected-B Clearance ready, obtained from the RCMP
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Information/Data Science, Data Management, or Computer Science and/or Engineering; expert in Data Quality
  • Experience in Data Quality, data profiling, and data cleansing

The indicated pay range for this position is a good-faith estimate based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Additionally, it is emphasized that the pay band mentioned herein is the one established by the client company. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work. Most candidates will start at the bottom half of the pay range, with the upper end reserved for candidates with extensive experience and skills and who live in geographic markets commanding a higher starting pay. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
