Our leading financial client is seeking a Consultant, Accessibility Compliance for the team


Responsibilities:

  • The Consultant, Accessibility Compliance, is accountable for supporting the Senior Director, Client Experience, in their responsibilities as Oversight Function lead for global and provincial accessibility in the regions in which we operate (excluding the US). 
  • Informed by the legislative and regulatory landscape in Canadian provincial as well as global regions, you will ensure oversight mechanisms are in place to address regulator expectations and industry standards as it pertains to accessibility. 
  • This includes completing risk assessments and  providing objective, proactive and specialized analysis and advice to ensure the client’s accessibility compliance programs remain robust and aligned with the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) program owned by Enterprise-wide Compliance.

Must Have: 

  • 4–5 years of relevant work experience in compliance, regulatory environments, or risk management.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility laws and regulations (provincial and global, excluding the US).
  • Familiarity with Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) programs and frameworks.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and identifying controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Pivot Tables
    • Lookups
    • Basic functions
    • Summarizing large groups of data
  • Ability to maintain and align RCM Library with policy.
  • Track and monitor regulatory developments and deficiency action plans.
  • Conduct initial risk assessments and support remediation of compliance issues.
  • Ability to manage compliance review meetings and lead discussions with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate submission of regulatory reports (e.g., Chief Compliance Officer’s Report).

Nice to have:

  • Experience in documenting and streamlining processes for continuous improvement. 
    • Former BA experience is considered an asset.
    • Working experience for a consulting firm is an asset
  • Experience with disability or accessibility challenges

The indicated pay range for this position is a good-faith estimate based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Additionally, it is emphasized that the pay band mentioned herein is the one established by the client company. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work. Most candidates will start at the bottom half of the pay range, with the upper end reserved for candidates with extensive experience and skills and who live in geographic markets commanding a higher starting pay. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
