Job Title: Infra / Cloud Architect

Location: Calgary, AB (Downtown)

Work Type: 100% Onsite (Monday–Friday)

Job Type: 6-month contract

Pay Rate: $49 - $64 per hour

Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure / Cloud Architect to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-scale cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions. This role will focus on building secure, scalable, and high-performance environments across Azure and AWS, while also supporting modern initiatives such as automation, DevOps, and GenAI workloads.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, and emerging technologies, with the ability to lead complex technical initiatives and collaborate across engineering, security, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-availability cloud architectures across Azure and AWS

• Lead cloud migration initiatives including on-prem to cloud and hybrid deployments

• Architect and manage networking components such as VNETs, VPNs, ExpressRoute, and identity/access management (IAM, AD migrations)

• Develop and implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or similar tools

• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab, or equivalent platforms

• Design and support GenAI / LLM-based solutions, including cloud-based AI workloads using Azure ML or AWS GPU services

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with security, compliance, and governance standards

• Provide technical leadership and SME support for enterprise cloud and infrastructure initiatives

• Support data center modernization and migration efforts, including P2V/V2V transitions

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure design

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and AWS, including networking, identity, and cloud services

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)

• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools (ARM, Bicep, Terraform)

• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.)

• Experience working with GenAI/LLM solutions and deploying AI workloads in cloud environments

• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure including networking, storage, and compute

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications such as:

Azure Administrator Associate

Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Azure DevOps Engineer Expert

AWS Solutions Architect

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)

• Exposure to multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud strategies

• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy

• Experience with data center migrations including P2V and V2V transitions
