Our client, the leading Canadian independent heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning ("HVAC") contractor is seeking a " dynamic Plumbing Manager" to join our team.
They are focused on the residential market operates out of 27 locations with over 1,400 employees, and provides preventative maintenance programs, repairs, and replacements of household HVAC units.
The Plumbing Department Manager will oversee all operations of the plumbing department, including sales, service, inventory management, and staff supervision. This role requires a strong leader who can balance customer service, team leadership, and operational efficiency to achieve their revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of plumbing products and solutions and experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor the plumbing department team to achieve sales and performance goals.
- Manage day-to-day operations, including sales, service scheduling, and customer service.
- Oversee inventory control, ensuring that stock levels meet customer demand without overstocking.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and product availability.
- Monitor department financial performance, including profit margins, sales targets, and cost controls.
- Address customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to develop strategies that drive department growth.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards and local regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in plumbing, with a strong understanding of plumbing systems, products, and installation techniques.
- Previous experience managing a team, preferably in a trade environment.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Proficient in using inventory management and sales tracking software.
- Knowledge of local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Red Seal Plumbing ticket
- Experience in vendor relations and procurement.
- Previous experience in a retail or wholesale environment related to plumbing.
